Oil : Coconut oil from Togo-Africa

The coconut tree is plentiful in Togo, especially in the southern region of the country. Along the coast, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the land, coconut trees can be found in abundance in every village.

Coconuts serve as a primary source of income for the local population. In an effort to promote sustainable development, Centre des Hommes has collaborated with a group of ”Seko” women to process coconuts into coconut oil.

Coconut oil 100% natural

This initiative has not only led to the production of high-quality coconut oil but has also opened up new marketing opportunities for the group. As a result, members of the group and their families have seen an improvement in their income and overall quality of life.

Although there are many, here are three quick recipes to help you use 100% natural coconut oil. These recipes are for the beginners and concern nourishing body balm for beauty body care, ginger mandarin bath bombs for beauty body care too and purifying cream for dry, sensitive or wrinkled skin for Beauty facial care. These recipes may help you, try it.

Coconut oil 100% natural

Nourishing body balm for beauty body care:

1 tablespoon Calendula oily macerate

1 tablespoon Coconut vegetable oil

2 tablespoons Sesame vegetable oil

50 g grated Cocoa butter

10 g Beeswax

Up to 20 drops of essential oil of your choice for fragrance.

Procedure: Melt the wax in the oils in a bain-marie and mix. Remove from the heat and add the essential oils.

Purifying cream for dry, sensitive or wrinkled skin for Beauty facial care:

Olive oil: 1 tablespoon

Coconut vegetable oil: 60 g 

Benzoin essential oil: 1 drop (optional)

Rosewood essential oil: 10 drops

Palmarosa essential oil: 10 drops (Sandalwood essential oil for men)

Procedure: Pour the olive oil and solid oil into a container and place in a bain-marie. Remove from the heat and stir to bring the mixture to a temperature close to 37°C. Add the essential oils and stir until fully incorporated. Transfer to a clean bottle. Keep refrigerated in summer only, or during hot weather. This product will not keep for more than 15 days!

Use: Apply the cream to the face and neck. You can vary the consistency of this cream by adding more or less olive oil.

Coconut oil 100% natural

ginger mandarin bath bombs for beauty body care:

200 g Baking soda
100 g Citric acid
100 g oatmeal
15 ml Coconut vegetable oil
15 ml wheat germ oil
30 ml Aloe vera gel
10 drops Mandarin essential oil
5 drops of Ginger essential oil
6 g dried ground ginger root
Procedure: Mix the bicarbonate, citric acid and oat flour in a bowl. Mix the vegetable oils and essential oils and add them to the bowl. Mix well. Then add the Aloe vera gel and mix until you have a slightly moist paste that clumps together easily. Add the ginger powder and stir. Pour the mixture into the cake moulds and leave to dry for about an hour before removing from the moulds.
